Heritage Oaks Golf Course is an award-winning municipal course owned by the city of Harrisonburg and run under the city’s Parks and Recreation Department and opened in 2001.
The course features L93 bentgrass greens and PennTrio bentgrass fairways for year-round playability. In 2023 the course will begin a two-year transition to bermudagrass on our tee boxes.
In 2021, GOLF magazine recognized Heritage Oaks as one of the top 25 underrated municipal golf courses in the United States.
Heritage Oaks is also the home of several local high school golf teams, as well as the James Madison University’s men’s and women’s golf teams and Eastern Mennonite University’s golf team.
We offer daily fee play as well as Season Passes that can cover all of your greens and cart fees for the year. We have many evening leagues available for your entire family to play (juniors, ladies/ladies learning, men’s and Fling Golf).
Heritage Oaks is famous for its award-winning conditions, with tee to green creeping bentgrass and receptive greens.
